Heritage facades.
Thoughtfully renewed.
A considered approach to residential and commercial facades with history, identity and original detail. We respect the character of older buildings while improving condition, appearance and performance.
Character Properties
Period homes and buildings with architectural interest that may not be formally heritage-listed. We can take a flexible approach to renovation, respecting original detail while modernising condition and appearance.
Heritage-Listed Buildings
Formally listed buildings subject to specific controls and approval processes. Scope depends on the listing, the condition of the building and any necessary approvals. We recommend seeking specialist heritage advice.
Respect for Original Materials
We work to preserve and complement existing materials, detail and character rather than erasing them.
Considered Finishes
Render, paint and cladding finishes are selected to suit the period and style of the building.
Condition-First
We assess the condition of the facade first, addressing structural and waterproofing issues before cosmetic work.
The scope of heritage facade works depends on the condition of the building, relevant heritage controls and any necessary approvals or specialist advice.
For formally heritage-listed buildings, works may require approval from your local council or a heritage authority. We recommend engaging a heritage consultant or architect to manage that process. We coordinate closely with your consultant team to deliver the approved scope.
For character properties without formal listing, we have more flexibility to tailor the renovation to your goals while respecting the building’s original detail.
What’s the difference between a character property and a heritage-listed building?
A character property has period features or architectural interest but may not be formally listed. A heritage-listed building is subject to specific controls and approval processes. We tailor our approach to the type of property and its requirements.
Can you work on heritage-listed buildings?
We can carry out facade works on heritage properties, but the scope depends on the condition of the building, relevant heritage controls and any necessary approvals. We recommend seeking specialist heritage advice where formal approvals are required.
Do you provide conservation or heritage consulting?
No. We are a facade contractor, not heritage consultants. We can coordinate with your heritage architect or consultant, and we take a respectful, considered approach to original materials and detail.
Can you match original materials and finishes?
We work to respect existing materials and detail, and can coordinate colour matching, render matching and material selection to complement the original character of the facade.
